River of Life delivers life-saving resources to the people of North Korea. Our mission is to bring hope and transformation to the lives of those in need. Through our proven FOUR STEP approach and community initiatives, we strive to make a positive impact and spread the message of love and compassion.
Step 1
General Aid
Firstly, we provide general aid (life-sustaining humanitarian aid) to the families of defectors at least three times a year. The minimum cost for a family to survive for a year is approximately $4,000.
By dividing this amount into two - three installments per year, we can have more frequent (and impactful) contact with families and share the gospel of Christ.

Step 2
Phones
Secondly, we provide phones to intermediary brokers who connect South Korean defectors with their families in North Korea. These phones are reliable and facilitate secure communication.
Without phones, nothing can be accomplished.
Phones are a lifeline.
Step 3
Medical Outreach
Thirdly, medical outreach is essential. Nearly all North Koreans suffer from malnutrition, especially children and teenagers. Therefore, we deliver medical supplies from China and distribute them to families within North Korea, fostering small-scale medical businesses across various regions.
Medical support initiatives ultimately establish connections with North Korean doctors and medical practitioners, fostering relationships that can expand business operations further into the country.
Step 4
Remittance
Fourthly, financing initiatives represent the pinnacle and completion of our North Korean outreach efforts.
Currently, all money sent from South Korea to families in North Korea incurs a 100% remittance fee, essentially doubling the amount sent. This exorbitant fee structure hinders defectors from sending money to their families.
We have found a path to directly engage in remittance services at a much lesser rate...allowing more defectors to send money to their loved ones.
Our improved (and more affordable) platform enables us to assist more families with available funds.
